This paper presents the social experience of living with chronic illness with respect to people with diabetes and hiperinsulinemia and the ways that they cope with these chronic illnesses. The paper explored the theme of coping with chronic illness via the interactions that occurred between ill persons and their social partners. Chronic illness was de'ned as biographical disruption and was analyzed according to the conception trajectory model of Anselm Strauss and his team.
